Español 1: Worksheet handed out in class, telling cities and locations of los Países Hispanohablantes (=Spanish-speaking countries). I gave out two new packets in class on Wednesday, and one of those is a set of maps of these countries (NOTE: Only the colorful countries are the Spanish-speaking ones). Use those maps for this activity.
Español 1: ¡No hay tarea! (= There is no homework!) We start something NEW mañana! (If you missed the quick numbers test, expect to stay after school Wednesday to take it (you can't take it during class, nor before school, nor at lunch).
Español 1: TEST tomorrow (martes, el veinticinco de septiembre) over the numbers 0-60. NO WORD BANK, NO MULTIPLE CHOICE... you must produce these words in Spanish, from memory. Use this Quizlet to practice.
Español 1: Find a calendar for 2018 (online or in your house? or on your Mac laptop?). Find 20 different dates that fall on a variety of different days of the week. Write out the date (in English), then write what day of the week it falls on, IN SPANISH (with English in parentheses). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY: Please also go to this Quizlet to practice numbers 0-100 (this is required)... you have to choose the WRITE activity (not just matching, or flashcards, etc.), and click on OPTIONS to be sure that you are set to "Answer in SPANISH". Spend at least 15 minutes on that. Either bring in a very short parent-signed note verifying that they saw you spend 15 minutes on this, or, if you know how to do it, use QUICKTIME to do s self-video of the computer screen, and you can show it to me on Monday.
EX: November 20: martes (Tuesday) Español 1: If you missed class today, here are links to three worksheets:
• This one--- These are very brief conversations, with missing words. Use your notes to figure out the missing words. • This second one-- This is a fresh sheet on which to write out the TRANSLATIONS into English, of the conversations that you came up with on the first work sheet. • This third one-- is self explanatory. Español 1: Worksheet handed out in class today. Just do activities 4 & 5, and be sure to translate everything into English (or you won't get more than half credit!).
If you were absent today, I'll give you the worksheet in class on Wednesday. Español 1: Write the question, "De dónde eres?, __(insert a name from the names list in your packet)___?" 10 times.
Each time , have the person answer with, "Soy de ___(insert a Spanish-speaking country from the map page of your packet.... it's book page 13)___." TRANSLATE into English each time! (=Where are you from_(person)__? ... I am from ___.) EX: ¿De dónde eres, Carmen? (=Where are you from, Carmen?) Soy de Nicaragua! (= I am from Nicaragua.) Español 1: No written homework tonight, except for those of you who were given make-up work today.
Español 1: 20 math problems all in Spanish, using numbers 11-40 for the first two parts of the equation. Write in all Spanish words, but also label with numeral. Don't forget to use más (for + ) and menos (for -). I've attached complete directions below.
