Please note: Because of today's snow day, both Thursday and Friday of this week will be A days (so no 1:15 dismissal either day).
Español 1: 1 statement in Spanish for each of the PLACES on book page 111 of your packet (the 15th page of your packet). In each one, you tell how you FEEL when you are IN that place (and translate each sentence). Each sentence should have this formula:
EX: Cuando estoy en ___ _________________, estoy _______________________. (= When I am in (the)(place), I feel (feeling). (Don't forget the Spanish word for THE!) Español 1: 1st Hour Only:
Use each of the 9 new "feelings" adjectives (cansado, nervioso, etc.) TWICE, like this: Estoy (adjective) cuando .... (finish off in English, to tell when you feel that way) TRANSLATE the Spanish.... Translate Estoy as "I feel" EX: Estoy nerviosa cuando there is a mouse hiding in my room. (= I feel nervous when...) Estoy nerviosa cuando I have to drive in the snow. (= I feel nervous when...) NOTICE that I ended nerviosa with an A.... because I am describing myself, and I am a female! Español 1: Sentences with son, somos, and adjectives.... like this:
• Pick three different Spanish words for relatives (you know.... abuela, primo, hermano... for example). • Write a sentence for EACH one, with "Mi ____ y yo SOMOS + 2 Spanish adjectives" EX: Mi padre y yo somos bajos y tontos. (= My father and I are short and silly.) THEN: • Think of 3 famous couples (EX: Béyonce y Jay Z; Melania and Donald Trump; whoever and whoever) • For each couple, write a sentence with SON and TWO Spanish adjectives from our list (true or not!) EX: Melania y Donald Trump SON altoS y guapoS.. (= Melania and Donald Trump are tall and good-looking.) OR: use two family members: EX: Mi madre y mi hermana son altaS y atléticaS. (= My mother and my sister are tall and athletic.) REMEMBER: If couples are a man and woman, you need MASCULINE / plural adjectives. If couples are the same gender, you use FEMININE adjectives if they are both women . TRANSLATE ALL SIX SENTENCES • BE CAREFUL THAT ALL ADJECTIVES HAVE "AGREEMENT" Español 1: 5th Hour : Go to the page in the packet that is TWO pages after the one with the adjective lists that we were filling in... it says EN RESUMEN at the top, and is page 75 from the book... and copy VERY NEATLY the adjectives for PERSONALITY and APPEARANCE (only!), onto the notes page. This will be your note sheet, now, so DO NOT WRITE MESSY WORDS! Don't rush through and do this sloppily, or you won't have legible notes. (Below, I have uploaded an image of the top part of the page you need to look at to do this:
Español 1: Read the directions and finish the two short sections in the packet, about making the adjectives plural. The page is the 7th interior page of the packet (I've attached a screen shot, below). ¡Buen fin de semana!
